Government of Belize

The government of Belize History has stated that it was under the influence of British before the 1980s. British ruled it for a hundred years. They made the colonial system in Belize and applied all British rules in this country. Belize got independence from British in 1981 and started their own Government as Government of Belize.

Belize Government 2018

The government of Belize in 2018 is described as it is the country conducted on parliament democracy. The Constitution of Belize categorized the government into three branches which include the Executive branch, Judiciary branch, and Legislative Branch.

Head of State in Belize

The Head of State in Belize is Queen Elizabeth II, represented by Governor-General in the country. The Governor- the General, must hold the citizenship of Belize. Governor-General is appointed by the recommendation of Prime Minister and Cabinet. Prime Minister and Cabinet made the Executive branch. The Executive Branch of Government of Belize deals with it.

Legislative Branch of Government of Belize

The Legislative branch of Government of Belize is a binary National Assembly. National Assembly is made by 31 members elected by House of Representative and 12 members of Senate. National Assembly of Belize is responsible for making law for order, peace and good government. NA has the maximum time duration of 5 years. The member of National Assembly must be the citizen of Belize.

Judiciary Branch of Government of Belize

Judiciary Branch of Government of Belize deals with all legal system. It is an independent branch of Government. Six Districts of Belize has two courts to solve their problem. One is Jurisdiction court that deals with criminal cases and other is District Court that hears civil cases. Both of them are called Magistrates. These cases are then referred to the Supreme Court if any Big case is concerned. Chief Minister deals with Supreme Court Cases and is appointed by Governor- General with the suggestion of PM.
