Government of Denmark
Denmark was established in 1397. This country was ruled by Kalmar Union. This union led the Kingdom in which Denmark, Sweden, and Norway were under their Union. In 1523 Sweden was freed from this kingdom by leaving Denmark and Norway behind. In 1814 the other two countries were also separated from this union by outside forces. After coming out under this union, Denmark inherited Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands.

This country shares a border with Sweden, Norway, and Germany. Denmark is surrounded by Sweden from the southwest, Norway from the north and Germany from the south.
