Kuwait's currency wasn’t always as strong as it is now but since the discoveries of oil reserves in the country, the boost in the economy of Kuwait has been drastic.

What is Kuwait currency? Kuwait’s official currency is the Kuwait Dinar. Kuwait dinar is further divided into 1000 fills. Kuwait’s currency is one of the strongest currencies in the world but this was not always the case. The first dinar came into being back in 1960 with the mission of replacing the Gulf rupee. At that, the Gulf rupee was equal to 1 Indian rupee but after the introduction of the dinar, the value of 1 dinar was equivalent 13.5 rupees. The Kuwait dinar had its tough times when it was replaced by the Iraqi dinar back in the gulf war in 1990 but as soon as it ended the next year in 1991, the Kuwait dinar came back but the value was greatly reduced. Kuwait’s currency was very weak in the initial times but the blessing of oil reserves was its support for the economy.
