This country was first discovered in 1501 by Spanish explorer Rodrigo de Bastidas. Rodrigo put forward the beginnings of colonization in the isthmus. But his mate who discovered the Pacific Ocean after 12 years of his discovery remains present everywhere in the history books of Panama.

Role of President in Panama

In Panama government, the president is referring as both head of state and head of Government. Panama Government is made of three branches i.e. Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judiciary Branch. 

First Branch of Panama Government

The first branch of Panama Government is headed by President. Juan Carlos Varela is the head of state as well as head of government. He is responsible for naming the elected ministers and present laws and rules proposed by the national assembly in Country.

Second Branch of Panama Government

The second branch of the Panama Government is the legislative branch. This is responsible to present different rules, laws, and regulation that creates peace in the country.  The third branch of Panama government is judicial Branch. This is the branch independent from legislative and executive branches. The supreme court of justice is the highest court to make the final decision.
