Government of South Korea
South Korea is a democratic state with a democratic type of South Korea government which has three divisions in total. South Korea democratic government consists of executive, legislative and judiciary branches. The whole state including South Korea government is presided by the head of state, President who is elected by the people of South Korea. The president is assisted by the Prime minister who is elected by the president. Other then president and prime minister are the ministers in the executive branch of the South Korea government. The president also acts as a commander in chief of the army and is elected for a term of five years. The total number of ministers in the South Korea government is seventeen in their ministries who have to report to the prime minister.
Legislative Branch
The legislative branch of the South Korea government comprised of the national assembly. It consists of a total of 300 members. The role of the legislative branch is to pass or change the laws, auditing of the budget, and to approve the state appointments. The national assembly members are elected for the term of four years.
Judiciary Branch
The judiciary branch is comprised of supreme courts. The chief justice is elected by the president with the consent of national assembly. Further judges are appointed by the chief justice and the president. The judges are appointed to serve the state for six years. South Korea government is a multi-party and elections are held after every five years. The present president of the South Korea government is Moon Jae-in, and the prime minister is Lee Nak-yeon.
