Georgia is one of the states of United States of America, which lies at the southeast side of the US. Georgia government runs of the federal system, which states that the powers should be fairly divided between the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government. In Georgia government, the governor who acts as the chief executive of Georgia is elected for a period of 4 years, twice. The lieutenant governor serves as the alternative option for governor when there is no governor of the state. He is similar to the vice-president of the state.  It should be noted, however, that governor of Georgia has no power to run the country. On the other hand, the lieutenant governor can run the country. Moreover, the governor and lieutenant governor need not be from the same political party.
