What is the Indian Currency? The India currency is Indian rupees. In the British rule, British coins were used for trade in three regions of India. After the British people left India, the India currency came in to being, and the Indian rupees was introduced in the year 1957 after the independence of India from Pakistan. But the idea of coins was passed in the 1800s. The coins released in the year 1906 are still considered the India currency.
