There are a lot of India Public Holidays because of the coexistence of people of many religious or faiths living in harmony in India. Giving India public holidays on different religious occasions harmonizes and unites the people of India. There are three India public holidays which are considered as national holidays which are the independence day of India celebrated on the 15 August; which marks the independence of India from Pakistan, the Republic day on 26 January and Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October.
