Lithuania public holidays are celebrated by Lithuanians throughout the year; these are the days the social and official commitments are halted. The list below identifies some of the Lithuania public holidays for the year 2019.

• January 1: New Year’s Day which is referred to in the local language as Naujieji metal. New Year’s Day is celebrated as the first day of the modern Gregorian and Julian calendar as Lithuania public holiday
• February 16: It is the Day of Restoration of the state of Lithuania which happened in the history in 1918.March 11: it is celebrated as the Day of Restoration of Independence of Lithuania from the Soviet Union in 1990
• The first Sunday after the full moon that occurs on the following Monday after 21st March: Easter which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus. It is celebrated with various local customs as the candle-lit parade and egg races.May 1: International Workers’ Day. Labour Day is celebrated as the International Worker’s Day since 1933. This Lithuania public holiday appreciates the workers and their contribution to society.
• First Sunday in May: Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor mothers throughout the world.
• First Sunday in June: Father’s Day
• June 24: St. John’s Day which is a Christian name for the original name, i.e., Day of Dew. This day is celebrated according to most pagan traditions.
• July 6: Statehood Day which commemorates the coronation of the First King, Mindaugas. The exact day of the event is arguably but has been celebrated officially since 1991.
• August 15: Assumption Day which according to the beliefs of the Catholic Church, Eastern and Oriental Orthodoxy are the bodily taking up for the Virgin Mary into heaven at the end of her earthly life. 
• November 1: All Saints’ Day. All Saints’ Day is a special day to remember and pray for the departed believers
• December 24: Christmas Eve
• December 25 and 26: Christmas which commemorates the birth of Jesus and is celebrated worldwide by Christians. This day brings together people who host various parties and get-togethers at their place in an atmosphere of love and affection.
