History of Benin
Benin became part of France in 1904. Benin was colonized by the French for the first time. They named it as "French Dahomey" after doing colonization in Benin. In 1958 French was ruling this country. It was made a self-governing colony of French and changed the name as "The Republic of Dahomey”. After an endless struggle and hard work, people of Benin got independence in 1960 from France. In 1975 the name of the country was changed from "The Republic of Dahomey" to "The Republic of Benin".

Benin Government Law & Rules
Benin Government has made rules and laws for betterment and prosperity of their land. Benin Government has decided to take steps for promoting tourism. It will help in the improvement of their country. Benin government is made up of three branches. The executive branch, legislative Branch and Judiciary branch are made by the Benin government.
Executive Branch of Benin Government
The first branch of the Benin government i.e. Executive Branch. It is comprised of President and its Cabinet members. The president must be the Beninese by birth or have the nationality of 10 years. He should be the age of 40 to 70. He must be residing in Benin during elections. He should be mentally and physically fit.
Legislative Branch of Benin Government
The second branch of Benin government is the legislative branch. This branch is made of members of the National Assembly. It comes in the parliament of Benin. There are 83 available seats in the national assembly. A military person is not allowed to be a member of NA until he has given resigned from his position.
Judicial Branch of Benin Government
The third branch of Benin government is Judicial Branch. This branch is independent of the Executive branch. This branch is responsible to solve the criminal and civil cases. The Supreme Court is at the highest level of jurisdiction.
