China is as broad as it gets in terms of almost everything and same is the case when it comes to languages in China. You will be amazed at hearing the total number of languages spoken in China. Official Language in China
The national language in China is believed to be Chinese. It is also known as Standard Mandarin or Modern Standard Mandarin. Out of 1.21 billion people in China, standard Chinese is spoken by 955 million people there. Although standard Chinese is China’s national language only 10% can speak it with fluency and the rest of the country speaks standard Chinese, not that fluently. In China, the standard Chinese is included in the curriculum in the schools for the students to get a better understanding of the language.

English is taken into account as one of the foreign languages with only 10 million speakers across the country. The use of Cantonese had originated from Hong Kong and is widely used in Hong Kong.
