Government of Oman

How Oman Government Work

Only one man runs Oman government, and that is His Royal Highness Qaboos al-Said. Monarchy prevails in Oman, and the King or Monarch of Oman is called the Sultan of Oman, and his country is named as his Sultanate, and that is the reason Oman is called as the Sultanate of Oman. The current Oman government was formed in 1970 when Sultan Qaboos threw his father from the throne and declared himself Sultan of Oman. Since then Oman government is under his rule. The Sultan appoints a cabinet himself to assist him in the daily affairs.

The Oman government has declared its state Religion as Ibadi Islam, one of the sects in Islam dominant in Oman. Sultan Qaboos is also the Supreme commander of man government, Oman armed forces, and is also the prime minister, minister for defense and minister for foreign affairs and finance at the same time.
