There are a set of Poland custom rules that need to be followed properly. When the goods from inside the European community are bought into Poland, the exporter is supposed to fill in, at the end of the month, a Declaration of Exchange of Goods or Intrastat Declaration as per Poland custom rules.

Poland Custom Rules

The Customs declaration (SAD) is still responsible for trade between Poland and third countries and sets the Poland custom rules. As part of the "SAFE" standards given by a well known organization i.e. (WCO) providing a new set of import controls including new Poland custom rules, the "Import Control System" (ICS), whose main aim is to secure the flow of goods at the time of their entry into the territory of the EU. This control system, which is part of the Community Programme eCustoms, has been effective since 1st January 2011. Since then, operators are frequently required to pass an Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) to the customs of the country where entry of goods is done before the introduction of goods into the customs territory of the EU. 

Union Customs Code

A new system, the Union Customs Code (UCC), came into force in October 2013 as part of the modernization of Poland customs rules and has been fully effective since 1st May 2016. The import of various batteries and chemicals product is subjected to specific procedures, to check the environmental impact of imported products. Phytosanitary certificates are usually required for most of the fresh fruits, vegetables, and other plant materials too as per Poland custom rules.
