Bhutan International Airports
There are 4 Airport’s in Bhutan out of which only 1 Airport is a Bhutan International Airport. That is the Paro International Airport, Paro. Rest three are domestic Airport’s. Paro Airport is one of the most challenging Airport’s in the world, as it is 6 km away from Paro on the bank of the river Paro Chhu in a deep valley. With surrounding peaks as high as 5,500 meters, Since Paro the only Bhutan International Airport is considered as a challenging one, only a few experienced pilots are certified to land there. It serves Thimphu and Paro district.
Flights from and to are allowed only during daytime hours, from sunrise to Sunset. These are permitted just under visual conditions. It’s accessible from Paro city and Thimpu via Paro - Thimpu road.
