History of Bulgaria Currency

A little historical analysis of the Bulgaria currency reveals that the first lev was introduced in 1881 with a value like the French franc. Many gold standards were issued and later suspended to standardize 1 Lev from 1899 up until 1952 when the currency reforms were issued. In 1962 another redenomination took place which was when the Third Lev was introduced and after this, the Lev remained a bit stable for almost three decades. The final redenomination of the Fourth Lev was introduced in 1999. There has been the discussion that the Euro should be adopted as the Bulgaria currency.
