National Language of Bulgaria
The official language in Bulgaria is Bulgarian which is spoken by most of the Bulgarian population and is used as the main language for communication in the official and educational setting. It is a European language and is closely related to the Macedonian language. The official language in Bulgaria is written with Cyrillic which is like the Russian and Serbian writing.
Other Languages in Bulgaria
As the main minority groups on Bulgaria are Turks and Romani, therefore, their languages are classed as the minority languages in Bulgaria. Turks form the largest minority group in Bulgaria and are descendants of the Turkish settlers from Anatolia in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. Moreover, the Romani constitute the second largest minority group in Bulgaria and are progenies of the Romani nomadic migrants from India. Due to the large numbers of foreigners who come to Bulgaria to study and work, their languages have infiltrated into Bulgaria as well, the most popular one being English.
