Mauritius Food

Mauritius food, especially curries, are in a league of their own with their flavor, but what actually makes them exciting is the wide array of accompaniments and sides that are presented with them: achard, chilli paste, lentils, white rice, farata (also called as roti), mine fruits (which are fried noodles), and even dumplings as well. If one is feeling adventurous, try their hot Creole curry or head to the Chez Rosy in Souillac for the famous octopus curry (which is also known for the fresh lobster). Fish Vindaye is a traditional seafood item that is quite flavorful, and it is one of the most famous foods of Mauritius. Although the ingredients in the seafood can vary, it is usually a decadent dish made up of extremely fried, pickled fish in a quite tangy onion, turmeric sauce, mustard seeds, garlic cloves, and ginger sauce. Mauritius food which is steamed dumplings are made with chayote (which is an exotic pear-shaped vegetable), chicken, seafood and vegetables and they are served in a broth which is infused with chilly and spring onions. Bol renverser is one of the most popular Mauritius food. it is made of chicken or prawn, stir-fried vegetables which are fully done, Chinese sauces, and white rice is layered in a bowl and turned upside down when it is served. A fried egg is usually placed on top of the dome after the dish is turned upside down as the last touch. The national food of Mauritius that locals and visitors alike love it.
