Government of Ghana
The Government of Ghana was made as a parliamentary democracy, followed by alternating military and civilian governments as well. In January 1993, the military Ghana government gave its way to the Fourth Republic after presidential and parliamentary elections in late 1992. The 1992 constitution divides powers among few people in Ghana government such as a president, parliament, cabinet, council of state, and an independent judiciary.

The Ghana government is elected by the universal suffrage. Political parties became legal after mid-1992 after completing a ten-year hiatus. There are around 20 political parties under the Fourth Republic. The two main parties in Ghana government are the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party.
History of Ghana Government
The National Democratic Congress is the organization to Jerry John Rawlings' Provisional National Defense Council which was in power from the year 1981 to 1992. The New Patriotic Party which was founded in 1992, is the successor to the Gold Coast's The Big Six independence achiever party which is United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC); the People's National Convention, and Convention People's Party, who is successor to Kwame Nkrumah's which is the original party of the same name, which was the Ghana Government for 10 years from declaration of independence in the year from 1957 to 1966, winning elections in the year 1956, 1960, and 1965.
National Democratic Congress
The National Democratic Congress had won the presidential and parliamentary elections in the years 1992, 1996, 2008 and 2012. Many Ghanaian diplomats and politicians hold essential positions in international organizations which is a matter of great pride.
