Although Uganda has had its ups and downs with the role of government one thing that Uganda government is very stable about is Uganda custom rules. Uganda custom rules are the rules that are meant to be followed by all the foreigners who are going out and coming in Uganda regardless of the country they belong to. So, while traveling to Uganda you need to be really careful about Uganda custom rules.

Uganda Custom Rules

Uganda custom rules are governed by the Uganda custom and revenue department. According to customs rules in Uganda, the import of 250 grams of Tobacco in any form is free and in case of wine or liquor, the quantity should not exceed 1 liter. A traveler above 18 years can import goods up to 500 United States Dollar without any charges.

Coming towards the export regulations; a limited of tobacco and liquor is allowed free of cost. In case of arms and ammunition, you need to hold a license which permits you to import and export guns or any other firearms. In case of pets, the owners should have a medical certificate that proves that they have been vaccinated at least one week before coming to Uganda.

According To Uganda Custom Rules

According to Uganda custom rules, the currency that can be imported or exported should be equal to each other which means only that much amount of currency can be exported which equals the amount of currency imported. But the catch here is that you cannot export or import the local currency.
